When using WordPress to create Custom Post Types, how do I make these custom post types available in the default Categories or Tags admin interface, rather than having to manage them separately?

I developed a new custom post type on my WordPress site, such as "Project Cases", but when I published it, I found that I could only add new taxonomies individually, and could not use the site's original "Categories" and "Tags" directly. "Tags". I would like to use the same taxonomy and tags for my custom posts as I do for my regular posts, how do I set this up?
