Why is content entered in the WordPress editor lost after saving?

WordPress uploaded images with blurry front end

I'm writing a travel journal and uploaded a landscape photo with 1920 x 1080 resolution and great clarity.
After the article was published, I opened the page to see that the image had become blurry and nowhere near as clear as the original image. I clicked on the link to the original image to check it out and realized there was nothing wrong with the original image.
This confuses me: why is the frontend display so fuzzy when it's clearly uploaded in HD?

Clicking the "Update" button does not work when editing a page with Elementor.

If Elementor fails to save the page, you can clear the cache, check for plugin conflicts, try switching the default theme, increase the PHP memory limit, enable Elementor Safe Mode, check the browser console for errors, and make sure the plugin and WordPress are up to date.
